You cant keep the good chicks down, and playing my favourite sport .. Set in Northern Iraq, Salaam Dunk is a documentary about basketball, friendship, and the pain of losing those we love. Two years ago, most of the women on the basketball team at the American University of Iraq - Sulaimani (AUIS) had never been running before. Many had never played sports. None had ever been on a team with other women. They came from all corners of Iraq to attend this prestigious school, but many cannot tell family back home they go to an "American" university. Through traditional interviews and private confessional video diaries, Salaam Dunk follows the ethnically diverse AUIS women's basketball team as they discover what it means to be athletes. From the joy of their first win to the pain of losing the coach who started their team, the film gives a glimpse into an Iraq we don't see on the news.

I first met T.Y on the set of I.A.A.D with Shortee Blitz recording the video for the single I Am A Don. Styled by super stylist Harris Elliott T.Y & Shortee, wearing super hero costumes, shiny yellow sateen capes, 100 denier tights, stood on top of a red telephone box in Maida Vale, London W9. A right pair of traffic stoppers they were! My little flat was the base and catering facility, 1998, I remember it well. I wish the video was up on YouTube! Why isn't it up on YouTube T.Y?! I still have a VHS tape one of these days.. That was a pure and wonderful moment, about 13 years ago.

Fast forward 2011 T.Y's an international UK hip hop recording artist, with a laid back, keeping it casual gentleman's wardrobe.

Just so happens he's known for super imposing his noice face onto other bodies, but my musing mind wondered what he might look like on the Paris catwalk wearing something with a Japanese influence. This is what you might get if you crossed Brit born, straight out of London, internationally fabulous hip hop recording artist T.Y with the last collection designed by Dai Fujiwara for Issey Miyakie Men. If I got my styling fingers on him he might look a little something like this.. ♥

Liking this leaning towards individuals with 'unusually keen foresight', super men and super ladies like @fatbellybella, Erykah Badu. Keep up with her on Twitter, she posts all sorts of things on there, including pictures of her delivering a baby, the images below and a link to this video interview with Berlin based venue and art collective MADE for their VoV, Visions of Visionaries series. Her humble approach is endearing, always she speaks from the heart so its interesting to hear what Ms Badu is thinking. The sociologist, the effortless artist sharing thoughts on why creativity is the absence of fear and not being afraid to be right or wrong.

Listen out for her talking about keeping her creative juices flowing, there's no release date but looks like we may see more Badu art on sneakers, and she hints about jewellery leather cuffs.. work designed from metals and wood! Lastly, for the loved up, watch this to the end where she's asked what makes her smile?.. a huge grin lights up her face when she replys "when he calls".. awwwww... lucky she!

A lovely looking bunch of dashing denim clad dudes and dudettes were out in style last night in celebrating at Notting Carnival 's Wrangler’s VIP party at Bumpkins restaurant. People passing through still buzzing of Carnival were treated to Wrangler inspired American BBQ platters of ribs and their own money, Wrangler dollars to spend in the Wrangler disco room! This was a four floor affair, with DJ sets by One Night Only Singer and Burberry Model, George Craig playing Disco classics, last time I saw him was at the Burberry store in new Bond Street at Fashion Night Out last year (my hasnt he grown) any-way.. lol YoYo’s very own Seb Chew was there and mixed a Carnival set of drum n bass and garage tunes, so to were the East London collective ‘Work It Girls’ who got everyone hype in the Carnival spirit playing their 90’s classics. Secret squirrels kept the night’s big surprise .. secret .. upcoming singer and East London face, Maverick Sabre, treated the guests to an exclusive acoustic set. Nothing unusual there but why she's on my radar is because Asa is different she's so Nigerian, but not typically. She comes with her own unique flavour its alot West London Ladbroke Grove and Paris rolled into one. Like I said not typically Nigerian. Gotta plug these video's, tracks taken from her new album 'Beautiful Imperfection'. They get my vote for 50's / 60's retro treatment. Meaning nod of approval for styling, direction, director of photography plus musically she's just plain old, good clean pop/soul fun with the 'move me' factor.

LCF Loves You Street Cast FINALISTS

This is part two in the LCF Loves You street cast project posts. By now you know that I feel a certain affinity to the whole idea of seeing fashion on real people in fashion promotion (and for more than just for a mainstream audience) I reason that it offers a fairer chance to at least size up 'more' in terms of potential new faces especially where size and ethnicity are concerned. Two it's a transparent process that encourages diversity, purely because its 'open call' and everyone and anyone is welcome. For a university like the London College of Fashion with an international reputation that in itself brings a set of challenges and opportunities.

The model criteria set by the production team stated models had to be "18 years old or over, at least 5.9” for girls and 6” for boys, and a UK size 12 or under for women" Even with the advance legwork going on behind the scenes I wondered whether 6 hours would be enough time to get turn the street casting around? Well, it turns if you know exactly what your looking for casting 20 models from 80 hopefuls before lunch time is pretty .. easy, at least that's how looked. So let me get out the way and introduce the finalists in numerical order (based on the time they arrived at the casting). Here are 19 of the 20 models (one got away!) street cast and booked to walk alongside professional agency models in the London College of Fashions BA 2011 catwalk show. I've been kept busy styling a couple of videos this week. It's been good, i'm inHappy, having fun whilst learning always keeps me busy and out of mischief. When I can juggle styling, my own personal point and shoot style of photography and blogging I can also manage to take a few shaky snaps behind the scene's. These were taken last weekend at a shoot for Alexander Nilere also known as the artist 'The Blackmoth' and directed by the equally talented Director of Photography eDV's Tyson Rodz Joseph. Alex is one of those really lovely guys who throws a million ideas at you all at once and some how you just have to figure it out as you go along. Figure it out we did Jamilah Estrianna Toni and I. This time the Prima Donna Writes was behind rather than infront of the lens.

We learnt a few new on the job tricks, like how to use ones PR skills when a dancer your mid-way dressing suddenly appears in a new outfit.. huh ? what ?! That kind of thing happen to anyone, maybe, when you lose track of the 6 people your dressing.. lol ! The Blackmoth, three dancers Margot, Emma and Tuuli, Elin 'Love Sensations' 6 foot love interest and identical twins Carla & Georgia. But hey we live and learn and grow right! I also learnt I'm pretty good with a needle except when I'm sewing a person into a pair of jeans!? It's all good, we had a wonderfilled day! Looking forward to seeing the final edit.

Fiona Gall the creative genius behind Emerald Faerie hand assembled the beautiful light fitting on location, and she's also the designer of the stunning gold shoulder epaulet. Shangri La-Di-Da that sounds like fun, something to celebrate even, right! It's the name of the collection what won Nova Chiu the London College of Fashion #LCF2011 (twitter hash tag) BA Undergraduate Collection of the Year Award. Right at the end of the show when Samata Angel presented that winning award I was relieved I'd have given up my seat ! To sit at times, crossed legged on the ground of the photographers pit in rising cement dust!! I had great vantage point, and caught the moments when a really, really petite Nova come walking all the way down the runway holding holds with her 6ft models..It was the moment when I understood what forecasters like Li Edelkoort have been telling us about. The influence that Chinese fashion is about to have on Western style.

Is 'Nova' her real name? because a loose definition of 'Nova' goes something like a cataclysmic explosion on the surface of a star. Cataclysmic thankfully not, explosion on the other hand, most definitely. I sat like a magpie about to swoop in a park full of shiny, sparkly things as Shangri La-Di-Da paraded very loudly down the cement runway. From head to toe her models were styled in silhouettes inspired by the old school, ethnic Chinese dress. Chinese architecture like traditional temples clashed with hand stitched bells, machine embroidered faux fur in red, blue, cream and yellow, traditional Chinese Ink and Wash painting on cotton, floral and abstract digital prints on nylon, jade and wooden beads, sequins, metallic fringing, bells, maybe even whistles I'm not sure. It was one of those collections even if you tried you could not miss it. I challenge anyone who watched to say I dont remember that one! Me thinks @daniellismore would love this!

Blessed Are The Change Makers

The catwalk is one of the areas in this industry that causes the most irk. We lament over the need for positive racial diversity, self love, body image, size zero and the negative impact this has young men and women. London College of Fashion LCF Loves You have put a set of baby steps in motion. LCF Loves You (I've mentioned a few time already over the past month or so) was a street casting call to Londoners to put themselves forward as models for the colleges BA Catwalk show. I'm calling this the catwalk production team change maker move! because I'm hoping they'll be able to do this again! They were looking for lads and lasses with their own sense of style, a good walk and a look that complimented the student collections to represent Londoners on the catwalk. I totally love the entire style and fashion on real people movement, Gok and all. So much so that I thought it might be fun to see if LCF Loves You included me ! No I did NOT turn up as a model hopeful ! The idea was to join the casting, get in the thick of it and see if and how they would make it work. Seems LCF Loves Me To ! Gillian okayed it for me and my camera to muck in and see how they get down ! The images in this first post are of some of the 85 beautiful ones, that for what ever reason got away. Look out for another post with the 20 amazing finalists and the BA catwalk show !

Taking Flight // The Re-Run + Ticket Give Away

If your anything like me you'll understand when I say sometimes I feel the need to recharge my visual battery (does that make sense?) Tomorrow aided by the infamous trend forecasting style and design futurologist Li Edelkoort I'll be sort of stepping back from collections and press days and products and taking time out for abstract concepting.

Motivated purely by a voyeuristic need to know curiosity I'll be sitting in on 'Taking Flight' A/W 2011-2012 (the re-run) first presented in London last summer. My blogger budget didnt allow first time round hence me going to the blogger friendly £36 event tomorrow 25th May 11am at RIBA.

"Lidewij Edelkoort invites students, designers, journalists, bloggers, makers, crafts people and freelancers to this exclusive re-run of 'Taking Flight' A/W 11-2012 trend presentation. Edelkoort predicted the world of the birds being the inspiration for next Feathers and the pastels of the parrots, large glasses like the owls" . With that image in mind and a few other images from the Style Canteen archive below some of the fashion trends spotted for A/W 11-12 already.

Knowing that the fashion books are closed on most of next seasons sales and press days. I've picked up on a hot and bright coloured winter, cross stitch and other needlework embellishments, big faux fur pieces, Cossack, bird-woman and plaids. Of course we still have Paris Mens A/W collections to come Wed 22nd - Sun 26th June but I'm hoping this will be interesting exercise in seeing whether or more importantly, how Edelkoorts style and design predictions actually filtered down to designers, catwalk and retailers.

London College of Fashion Loves You

America's Next Top Model does it, Nivea, Colleen and Gok do it. Kimora Lee Simmons has done it in the Fab Lane, even I've tried it. After years of dancing round the traditional agency model casting route the London College of Fashion are also doing it to. This year the models buzzing around the corridors for the BA (Hons) Design and Technology catwalk go-see's will not be girls and boys armed with folio's, showing their walk, campaign and cover tear sheets. There will be none of the expectations of professional model credentials or even that she'll know how to work a look at the end of the catwalk for the photographers in the pit. No agency contact cards, model sheets or the confirming of first and second options on the favourite face.

It's a highly risky strategy, they'll have no idea what's coming but do it they must! Shake up their model selection process and cast from the streets of London from people like us ! This year the creative and marketing teams responsible for producing the end of course catwalk shows have decided to have a go at casting professional looking models via an open casting event called London College of Fashion Loves You.

Thursday 5th May is an important evening for talented lady, acclaimed international fashion portrait photographer and blogger Shaniqwa Jarvis. By way of introduction just like her name Shaniqwa Jarvis is truly fabulous. It's a crying shame that we only usually get to catch up on the London Fashion Week circuit.. and that's usually when she's frantically paced working on London Fashion Week Daily paper. Hence me looking forward to her debut solo show “This Charming Man” it's another perspective that I haven't had the chance to see yet.

“This Charming Man” is both the culmination and launch of a photographic project which comes to London via Los Angeles and Shaniqwa's home town the Upper West side of New York City. It opens at the Londonewcastle Project Space this week. This is a visual story between Shaniqwa and her muses (for want of a better descriptive) a documentation of young hipster type chaps who have sparked a certain curiosity in her. These portraitures were taken between 2007 - 2010 and are the direct result of the conversations between Shaniqwa and her subjects. She'll be exposing the tensions between personal and public personas and explores the ways in which these inspirational young men live and express themselves. J'adore Spring for the simple reason that it's the only time of year I can stop and smell pretty flowers without getting a runny nose and puffy eyes. It's also the perfect time of year to sit under dozens of pink and white puffy flowered cherry blossom trees look skyward and call out shapes and forms made of clouds, romantic in a hippy kind of way right? I'm sure I'd be more than Happy to do so were Loewe Cherry Blossom Collection dangling on low branches lol !

Olivier Rousteing New Designer at House of Balmain

With the post left by the departure of Christophe Decarnin, on the 26th April 2011 the house of Balmain announced the appointment of Olivier Rousteing as its new Designer. It is unconfirmed but there is a suggestion that Decarnin left Balmain due to ill health? I'm not familiar with Olivier Rousteing and 25 seems like a babe in arms no? He maybe young but evidently he's extremely talented and knows what he's doing! Rousteing knows the brand, he has been designing Balmains women’s wear for two years. He now takes on the responsibility of designing, supervising and developing both men’s and women’s ready-to-wear collections.

Before joining Balmain, Rousteing worked for five years at Roberto Cavalli, where he was promoted to the position of Designer for the women’s and men’s ready-to-wear collections. Olivier Rousteing was born in France and raised in Bordeaux. He completed his fashion studies at Paris’s École Supérieure Des Arts Et Techniques De La Mode (ESMOD) in 2003.

Y-3 NYC Painted Billboard

Our second fashion film for today is a time-lapse video produced by Y-3 showing the creation of the brand’s billboard in New York City’s Soho neighborhood on the corner of Houston Street and Broadway. The third is the Spring/Summer 2011 campaign film, the opening images include model Jacob Coupe the inspiration for the billboard. The billboard was painted by Colossal Media Group (spray.. hand painted.. we're not sure) either way its a daring efforst. Shot by Jacob Sutton and styled by Jay Massacret. This is a high-speed video showcasing the painting being done over a few days time compressed down to one minute. Video directed by Aaron Wesner.

Love how Converse put together their press events 5-8pm, multi space installation, DJ playing music you could dance to and dinner hor d'oeuvres served at the London HQ. MVS the most valuable space at Converse had to be the Star Chevron room which had video number one running on a loop. Love the 'Dr J' basketball boot and promo campaign video both inspired by one of the games all time most valuable players the legendary basketball player Dr J aka Julius Winfield Erving II. The Dr J basketball shoe is a First String product, basically for Press Day preview only. Suffice to say it's a good looking hi-top, good quality leather with discreet Dr J branding embossed on the side. I spotted a dark brown pair perfect staple item for fall footwear wardrobing. I'll keep you posted on its general release as soon as the embargo has been lifted.

Join the 'Star Player' Procession has been available on the Converse You Tube channel since last Autumn without an embed? I've pulled it from 'Brooklyn Model Works' Vimeo channel (the creative's behind the gold sedan chair). Naturally as one would expect, the 'Star Player' Procession teams Converse with a high profile community of basketball players, skate boarders and other faces you might recognise. Featuring the Dr.J, Jim Jones, Carlos Arroyo, Dougie Fresh, 'Black Jack' Ryan Shammgod, Luam Keflezgy, Rune Glifberg, Kenny Anderson, Eli Reed, A-Butta Walton, Sammy Budda, Rune Gligberg (who else did I miss?) performance by Impact Repertory Theatre, choreography by Luam Keflegz, filmed in Brooklyn NY, music by White Stripes. We're cool right ? wouldn't it be grand if Converse could create equally cool UK centric campaigns !

We have never exhibited anything of our own creation before in a public or virtual space before. In the past we've done reviews, interviews and launches. Partly because we've been very focused on blogging, figuring out how to write, edit and use social media and partly because we just didn't dare go there! Lately we been inspired by cherry blossom and other things that inspire happy. 'Starring' was born from that inspiration.

So welcome to 'Starring' the first in a new a blog series on Style Canteen. This is a bloggers collaboration between Style Canteen, photographer David Nyanzi and our real person modelling for the day Jamilah from The Prima Donna Writes. We launch our street shoots with a colour filled leg wear story shot in Shoreditch East London. The idea was to play with the traditional 'straight up' style of street photography and perk it up some what with lots of colour and detail. We're In Happy with the end results, we think it come together quite well. What do you think?

WAC changes and affects lives! Our kids and young people.. many have gone on to have successful careers as actors, musicians, artists need WAC. We see WAC Alumni on television we buy their music they inspire so many. Our kids are struggling to succeed in the British educational system that in 2011 still hasnt fully grasped the real issues facing our kids. To anyone one that's been gotten lost in the world of on-line retail, shopping on-line IS highly addictive. You know, from first hand experience it's easy to rack up a few more ££'s in delivery charges alone! That's still not enough to put me off, but it has swayed the balance between how much time I've spent window shopping in the real and virtual worlds. This is just a quick post to say thank you to Zoe Lem and the My Sugar Land team for the lovely reminder that playing dressing up with exquisite designer and vintage gowns and dresses can still be a delectable self indulgent treat. I'm not sure whether they're still open? but here's to a lovely afternoon I once spent rummaging racks, shelves and shoes in a real shop not on the high street.

A Right Royal We

I think it was Gianni Versace that said "In the past, people were born royal. Nowadays, royalty comes from what you do". For the cast and crew at Guts for Garters "The Royal We" opening it is throwing a darn good party! To give you a feel of how the launch went the salutation on the invitation read 'Dear Subjects'. Now I know I'm not a subject but you gotta admire the spirit. We were very graced by the presence of His Highness the King of Soul, Ronnie King, Her Royal Highness Elizabeth Richard, the leading lady Her Maarrm'ness the queen look a like and the Princess in waiting Agent Lynch. If I had a video clip to share, you could get real taste of how Rachel & Cassie (in her amazing peacock party dress) shimmy down ! Trust me, there's much, much more to come.

In a private room at The Hospital Club, I held on to the bottom of what looks like a piece of mouldy print wallpaper. Rachel Chudley the shorter half of 'Guts For Garters' stood on tip toes on a chair trying to wedge the roll into place before it hit the floor again. While she's up there, she's telling me about all the goods she and Cassie Beadle (the red head half of the duo) have dressed the room with for the press preview of their new curiosity concept store 'Guts For Garters'.

In its own small way Guts For Garter is an irreverent reflection of a trend that Future Laboratory’s Martin Raymond will be talking about not too far away from Guts For Garters at the LS:N Global Trend Briefing at Round House. The 'Transformation Economy' Anarconomy Decade " turbulence, transformation and anarchic thinking.." This has me thinking about a time when the word 'Camden' meant influencer. Circa 1986 and Run DMC first ever UK gig at the Electric Ballroom, goths and punks and the destination location for alternative sub cultures and other types that broke the rules.

Somewhere between an art gallery and ye-olde curiosity shop two slightly rebellious, charming, fun, warm characters are bringing back some much needed stylish defiance to Camden. Cassie and Rachel have a great sense of humour they had me laughing so much through my recorded interview, I can hardly make out a thing (very unprofessional I know!) But I did make out that Guts For Garters is a tri-annual themed retail concept. Each theme runs for 6 weeks before transforming into a new buying exhibition. They launch with 'Royal We' followed by theme two Surreal Women and finally Anatomy. Keep an eye on Death Becomes Herr the fanzine-poem created by Fiontán Moran style for updates.

So the ‘The Royal We’ is anti-monarchy, quite different artists using different mediums messing and mashing up the idea of ‘We’ and royalty. Anti-anarchical fashion, art and interiors commissioned pieces from artists including Jamie Reid, Keith Coventry as well as the MA students from the Royal College of Arts and archive pieces include Vivienne Westwood brings a punk aesthetic and Norman Hartnell. Alongside these names will be designers such as A Child of the Jago, illustrative collective Le Gun, Andrew Walker and Grace de Prez and vintage items dating back to the Victorian era. Guts For Garter opens March 17th at No 205 Royal College Street Camden London NW3 Its definitely going to raise a few eyebrows !

Port Magazine / Intelligent Style

You may have noticed I've been keeping an eye out and noticing menswear for a little while. I tend to just dip a toe in here and there because I don't always get it. So my growing appreciation of the conversations in print and on-line places like Mr Porter and Fantastic Man grows deeper by the season. As is Harris who always steer's me in the right direction. He hinted a few months ago about a forthcoming men's publication I'm thinking Port Magazine the 'new intelligent style magazine for men' which launched this week might be it.

It's a silly one but if it wasn't for the likes of Mr Porter, 'Port' the title echoed mature gentry types from a bygone age. Before my own stodgy mis-conjuring first impression imagination set in. I watched the video, laughed with Editor & Publisher Dan Crowe of Zembla and Another. Good to see Ekow Eshun, Cultural Editor in the masthead and news reader Jon Snow. PORT offers more than "style for people who read style publications", that's just what I've homed in. Read the article on the effect of climate change on the Inuits its unnerving. So for me PORT is cultural, political and current affairs and feels a bit like Sunday Times and Sunday Times Style rolled into one. I'm sure it's impressive masthead will cement its voice as an influential and comprehensive publication.

Back to the lighter side, browsing their Fashion + Style pages I spotted these reassuring 'likes' from their 'Spring Essentials' feature (sure the quilted tote by H by Harris would have made another great pick to issue 1 dont you think ?) I like Port, certainly as a style publication with substance and as a new inspiration destination and loving their humour / wit!

Happy birthday Nowness! thank you for your thoughtful party favour. My.. haven't you grown, how was your jaunt in London, pleasant I hope? The latest film to be featured on NOWNESS is Pauline presumabaly named after the featured model Pauline van der Cruysse. Directed by film maker Barnaby Roper a spliced up Pauline dressed in couture, dandles and dances around the screen to the sounds of a classical inspired soundtrack. The idea is for us, the viewer, to watch 'Pauline'.. in full screen mode. Play around with the plus + / - minus buttons at either side of the player and build our own 'audio-visual tableau'. So I played with the visual techie treat and here the screenshots of my grande finale I call it

In other news our very own epitome of dapper dashingness Memsor Kamarake is in the lasted edition of Style Caster so we just had to share. Style Caster's latest cover story pays style homage to it's 50 Most Stylish New Yorkers. The best dressed from "editorial, retail, beauty, music and beyond" who represent style the New York way. In the style stakes the other ain't half bad but there's no point in arguing with Memsors self awareness, strong sense of fashion identity, and believe me when I say he has the most enviable wardrobe it's the reason why he always looks 'sow good'.

Here's the look with images courtesy of Style Caster. Breaking it down a little further as well as the Dior Homme vest, Louis Vuitton shorts, blazer and boots listed in Style Caster. If I know Memsor every detail is thought out.. it's meticulous and just 'so'.. so complete with accessories he wears rings by nOir, his ritual 7 bracelets, a string of beads bought in Freetown Sierra Leone wrapped around his wrist and carries a pair Ray Ban Wayfarers and of course his Blackberry. For reference we're loving that he name checks Brit menswear designer Simon Spurr amongst his favourite ones to watch (you betta werk!)

Finally day of the Love You chronicles.. I bring exciting news to tribe social networked for the love of fashion! come September 2011 we'll be able to start networking in Fashion World Live. This has the potential to be an amazing product from IMG, renowned make-up artist and the projects Creative Director Pat McGrath! & online gaming company Funcom. "It's the first interactive online entertainment platform for fashion and the first to fully integrate fashion brands into social media". What does this all mean? well basically Fashion World Live is a community, just like other social networks, remember fashion network IQONS ? (i just checked, and its still there, as is my profile which hasn't been updated in nearly a year.. shame on me!) and cant forget The Fashion Spot and SHOWstudi o Forums (any others?)

The official word is that FWL will exist initially on Facebook and allows users to create and collaborate in a miriade of ways across design, styling, modeling, makeup artistry, photography, show production etc. "Users can explore their own creative talents, collaborate and network with each other to create and build various dimensions of the fashion industry, and rise to fame with each challenge and success" Nothing big then ! The attraction here is IMG and Pat McGrath, hugely influential name in this industry will bring authenticity to the project which will hopefully attract talent and rich content. The Love You chronicles Day Four .. You all know how much I love Nowness right! They're the LVMH brand that have a very special way of making luxury accessible and aspirational. So the digital aficionado in luxury storytelling are here in London. They set up shop a few days ago in the Front Room at St Martins Lane Hotel and will be here from 14th-28th February before moving on to Milan Fashion Week. This is a showcase of some of the gorgeous content they have on the website. Visit and sit on a signature designer bench, watch short films selected by the editorial teams trademark stylistic curatorial eye. Shorts like Alison Chernick's close-up on James Franco, KT Auleta's diamond romp with Eniko, and Matthew Donaldson's equestrian adventure starring Nacho Figueras. And.. you can leisurely browse NOWNESS.com's live daily content on gallery-style iPad stations.. These days your more likely to find him working as an in-house designer with Jade Jagger or running a design studio in West London creating prints, illustrations and clothing with his trademark beauty on large-scale pieces. Thanks to Style Caster my fashion New York Fashion Week radar, which is tuned into fashion forward this season, just found a new label to watch. It's Ohne Titel (not sure how to pronounce this labels name) Like that matters when I watched the video, saw the collection, looked up the S/S 2011 collection which is amazing & gorgeous, I'm loving it, instant hookation! We're loving the Ohne Titel attitude, very,very major ! You know how we like to do it over here on Style Canteen, rooting for the newcomers and thanks to live streaming it doesn't matter where they are. Check them out and let me know what you think.

* Update * Just learnt that Pollini Creative Director Nicholas Kirkwood (he's also a fellow UAL Alumni) is again working some serious footwear collaborations! Ohne Titel joins the Brit pack group of designers Preen, Louise Gray, Meadham Kirchoff and Manish Arora on the “Pollini Forward Designers” footwear collaboration. At the moment shoes are only available to view in Pollini showrooms. Without showroom access it's a wait until August 2011. But we have preview sketches of the Ohne Titel and Preens shoes boots to share. Fur, tassels and how high are these heel?! Looks like we're going from killer to the towering 'incredible' heel. If could walk in them that would make 5 ' 10 already .. gassed.. love it!

Love You / Jewellery

Love You Too is a reminder that jewellery maketh the outfit. Definitely not the traditional girls best friend symbols of love + jewellery. Hence the reason why Love You Too features jewellery designs 'amor los une' by Marie Francesca Pepe and The Love Story Paris 1946′ by Jessica Lotz.

Starting with fashion & jewellery designer MFP, for S/S 2011 Marie has includes her avant-garde accessory collection fondly referred to as 'jewellery-wear'. Inspite of my small frame, most days i'm a size 8, I dont feel completely dressed without a piece of statement jewellery. Right now i'm trending jewellery wear that drapes across the shoulder and comes from some place that's chunky, hard yet elegant and preferably made from precious metals. Hence MFP two finger bar ring, the wide band ring with the heart charm and the stud link chain which also comes in a draped bodywear version.

And now for a Love You congratulation shout out to jewellery designer Jessica Lotz who had her heart stolen right down the aisle, she getting married in March! From Jessica's Love Story, Paris 1946 I've picked the hand stamped, hand made wax seal bangle. This feels like a classic piece, different to MFP in that it's not fashion led. Its simple design with character has an air of authenticity about thats quirky as well as bold. Gold and silver, rough around the edges with a gorgeous heart pendant or is that a charm? Either way we're loving it.
